Jack and Jill of America Incorporated, Westchester County NY Chapter, Honoree at YMCA Spring Gala

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- On April 20, 2023, the Westchester (NY) Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. was honored by the New Rochelle YMCA for its continuous civic efforts throughout New Rochelle and Westchester County. Elise Finch, meteorologist for CBS News served as Master of Ceremonies for this amazing night of celebration which included everything from fundraising to dinner and dancing.

Under the leadership of President Dawn Hankin, Community Service Chair Summer Derrick, Events Coordinators Pamela Watson and Kanika Hugh Murray, the Community Service Committee, Program Director Eileen Lambert, Fundraising Chair Orchid Richardson, and Foundation Chair Morrietta Nkomo, civic engagement and philanthropy have been made a strong focus during the current leadership administration.

The theme of community responsibility was built into every chapter-wide program, grade-group event, and stand-alone community service event creating an unprecedented impact on our community like never seen before by our Chapter, from raising record numbers of donations and sales to supporting our local organizations yearly to providing services to children, families, and teachers throughout Westchester County, we have been committed to community impact.

With honor, pride, and support, several members of our Community Service Committee and Foundation Committee were present to see President Dawn receive the award on the Chapter’s behalf. Also in attendance was Jack and Jill Westchester County Alum and former New York State Senator for District 36, Ruth Hassell-Thompson. What an honor it was, the award was presented by Jack and Jill Associate Jewel, Terry Clements, Westchester County Legislature for District 11.

The Chapter is excited to announce that by Proclamation and Decree from Westchester County Executor George Latimer and the Westchester County Board of Legislators, Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated, Westchester County, NY Chapter will be honored with our special day in the County on May 2nd, 2023! Thank you to the Board Members and the New Rochelle, YMCA Community for the amazing recognition of our Chapter.

We are committed to strengthening our community by fighting against poverty, crime, homelessness, hunger, and social injustices with a mission to help not just our children but all children, all the time and on purpose. Our work will continue to inspire others within our community to get involved.

Thank you, Jack and Jill, Westchester members, for being such an impactful force in our County; this award is for the entire JJWC TEAM! Get your pink and blue and head to White Plains on May 2nd to celebrate with our sign at the County Center!! We are excited!
