2020 Census Update: Funding and Response Rates

(06.08.2020) -- The 2020 Census is happening now. If you haven’t filled out the Census for your household, respond online (https://my2020census.gov), by phone (1-844-330-2020/English and (844) 468-2020/Spanish), or by mailing back the Census form. Your participation matters because the results affect planning and funding for education, infrastructure, transportation, community development, healthcare, and other programs. A high response rate equals more funding for New York, Westchester County, and its municipalities. Check the Census 2020 Response Rates List. Compare the number of responses submitted by your city/town/village with other municipalities. It is likely that students attending public schools in the Village of Scarsdale will continue having access to high speed internet because over 77% of Scarsdale’s residents responded to the Census. It is also likely that energy efficient lighting for public spaces will be installed throughout the Village of Pelham Manor because over 76% of its residents responded to the Census. Similarly, the Village of Croton-on-Hudson will likely see an increase in funding for community development because over 76% of its residents responded to the Census. Funding for your community is available. Claim it by completing the Census. Take 8 minutes and 46 seconds of your time in honor of George Floyd. Make Us Count for Ahmad Arbery, Michael Brown, Jr., Philando Castile, Kenneth Chamberlain, Sr., Terence Crutcher, Eric Garner, David McAtee, Tamir Rice, Walter Scott, and Breonna Taylor . . . to name a few of too many.
