Mount Vernon had the LOWEST CENSUS RESPONSE RATE in Westchester County

You received several of these electronic reminders from me on the importance of The 2020 U.S. Census. Our community must make serious effort to responded. As of May 1, 2020, Mount Vernon had the LOWEST RESPONSE RATE in Westchester County at just 41% while some communities are as high as 72%. Ten years ago, Mount Vernon had the lowest response rate in the County and one of the lowest in the United States. As the result, we lost millions of dollars in Federal Funding and continue to suffer economic decline.

MOUNT VERNON, WE MUST DO BETTER.

I urge you to complete your census response. It only takes a few minutes but failure to invest these few minutes could seriously harm your community for a decade.

Our Census 2020 response will affect everything from the money we get from the federal government for things like infrastructure and health care to the number of representatives we have in Congress for a decade. This is your chance to shape the future. You can complete the 2020 Census now online, by phone or by mail. Completing the Census is simple. There are only nine questions to answer. The form is available in a dozen languages. And you can respond by phone in more than a dozen languages too.
